Matthew Clarke practised as an international finance lawyer at Linklaters from 1988-1998 working in London, New York and Hong Kong.

From 1996-2001 he was a director at the merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co. Limited, where he carried out numerous natural resource transactions in emerging markets.

Jerry Keen

Head of Corporate Broking

Jerry Keen established OAK Securities with Matthew and Henry in January 2024 to raise capital and promote leading companies in the natural resources sector.

Jerry has a successful track record for raising capital for clients and building up the natural resources businesses for other firms. He has worked for Shore Capital, Deutsche Numis and UBS in London, New York and Hong Kong and has a Master’s in Finance from London Business School.

Henry Clarke

Head of Sales

Henry Clarke began his career at Kitcat and Aitken in 1982, prior to running the sales desk for Bank Sarasin in London for eight years. He later founded the highly successful distressed debt unit at Collins Stewart.

In 1996, Henry launched his own venture and private equity business, Trafalgar 1805 Ltd., investors in successful mining, engineering, software, manufacturing, biotech, med-tech, and oil & gas businesses, and served on the boards of many among them. In 2011, he co-founded Stone Drum Partners and managed its Resources Early Stage Opportunities Company.

Maria de Freitas

Corporate Finance & Compliance

While pursuing her legal career, Maria de Freitas specialised in public interest law. She has worked for both the European Court of Human Rights and The Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. Upon returning to the UK, Maria worked for Sage Pay and the Royal Mail Group, where she added financial and office administration to her portfolio of skills and knowledge.

She graduated in 2002 from Spiru Haret University in Bucharest with a BSc 2:1 in LLB Law. Maria continued her studies in the UK, graduating from the University of the West of England in 2011, earning a BSc (Hons) 2:1 in LLB Law.

Zac Philips

Oil & Gas Research

Zac Phillips has over 25 years of experience in oil & gas and finance, working for companies such as BP, Chevron, DB Petroleum, Merrill Lynch and ING Barings, where he undertook finance or finance-related roles.

His extensive oil & gas financial and technical experience has meant that he is a leading expert in the valuation of E&P assets at all stages of the E&P cycle, from exploration, appraisal and development, through to producing and late-stage development/redevelopment, as well as decommissioning.

Dr Ryan D. Long

Mining Research

Ryan Long has over 15 years of experience in the mining and exploration sector. He has a strong technical background in geology, having worked on various stage projects with leading mining companies such as Barrick Gold, Anglo American, and Xstrata. He also has extensive knowledge and expertise in equity research analysis, having previously held roles with Edison Group and Northland Capital Partners.

He has published multiple scientific papers in international journals, holds a PhD in Economic Geology, and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London. He is also the founder of Junior Mining Insights, a mining and exploration-focused newsletter.

Dillon Anadkat

Research Analyst

Dillon Anadkat joined the Oak Securities team as an Analyst in 2024. Prior to that, he worked in investment management in New York.

Dillon has previously worked in both private and commercial banking. Through his experiences, he has developed a strong understanding of financial operations and client services. Dillon graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in 2021.

Ashleigh Ruxton

Head of Advisory

Ashleigh Ruxton spent several years on the Institutional Equity Sales team at GMP Securities, specialising in mining, energy and agriculture. Prior to that, she worked in the interests of Close Asset Management as an analyst on the Pan-European Equity Fund, managing their collective investments and serving as their senior relationship manager.

In 2007, Ashleigh graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master of Chemistry and went on to do her Post-Graduate in Entrepreneurship, founding the Foldeez shoes company in Cape Town.
